Boston University hosted Mizrahi Food Night, held on Wednesday November 17th. The event was a huge success! Each month, BUSI has a different theme where they hold events to educate the BU community. And on Wednesday, November 19th, Tufts University Friends of Israel hosted Gil Hoffman, journalist for the Jerusalem Post; in their monthly speaker series entitled "Israel 101."
Boston University hosted Mizrahi Food Night, held on Wednesday November 17th. The event was a huge success! Each month, BUSI has a different theme where they hold events to educate the BU community. Their theme for November was Minorities in Israel. They had tabling at our student union and our main event was Mizrahi Food Night. On the tables we had information about minority rights in Israel. The lighting was dimmed; there were candles and rugs on the ground, pillows to sit on and Mizrahi music in the background. It was awesome! Tons of people came out and there were a ton of new faces! Our goal was to have an event that is a little taste of Israeli minorities and to spread information about our next event- which falls under next month's theme - Forgotten Refugees.
On Wednesday, November 19th, Tufts University Friends of Israel hosted Gil Hoffman, journalist for the Jerusalem Post; in their monthly speaker series entitled "Israel 101." The event had a great turnout, and included members of Emerson's Students for Israel. Mr. Hoffman was entertaining and articulate as he spoke about reasons that American's should be optimistic about Israel's future - "in spite of it all."
