Israeli pride is booming in the southeast! This past Sunday, Hasbara Fellow Claire Miller and the University of Florida Gators for Israel launched Hasbara for Breakfast: Coffee and Conversations. The bi-monthly “brunch and learn” program highlights Israeli politics and current events in the region.
As Emory Students for Israel gears up for Israel Peace Week and their annual iFest, the campus remains focused on the recent events in Egypt. On Tuesday, February 8 at 5:15 PM, The Claus M. Halle Institute for Global Learning, Emory Hillel, and professor Kenneth Stein’s Institute for the Study of Modern Israel (ISMI) present "Egypt: Regional Revolution or Local Unrest?"
The University of Georgia’s Dawgs for Israel will be screening Five Hours from Paris on February 20 in conjunction with the Athens Film Festival. The screening coincides with the final week of the Atlanta Jewish Film Festival.
The Noles for Israel at FSU are anxiously awaiting the start of “Israel Week.” The event lasts from February 21 to the 25 and features guest speakers, information sessions, and an Israel-themed Shabbat dinner held at FSU’s Hillel and co-sponsored by AEPi.
Stay tuned for more from the southeast and don’t forget to apply for Hasbara Fellowships’ summer programs!
Shalom y’all,
Gail
