Brandeis Brings Back Burritos to Birthright Babes
Feb 11, 2011
By Heddy Ben-Atar
New Hasbara Fellow Dana Kandall organized Brandeis’ first event of the semester; Birthright and Burritos. She invited all Birthright alumni at Brandeis to make their own burritos as they hear about opportunities to increase their involvement with Israel Activism on campus.
First, the Birthright Alumni learned about how to apply to the summer class of Hasbara Fellows!
At the event they learned about BZA (the Brandeis Zionist Alliance which the university pro-Israel club). BZA hosts events throughout the semester that promote Israeli culture. They will also be hosting Brandeis’ Israel Peace Week.
Burrito chefs also learned about Israel By The Book - spearheaded by NEW Hasbara Fellow Avi Fuld. Israel By The Book will be a class held for Brandeis students who want to learn how to become activists. It is a great program to engage students who have just connected with Israel and want to learn more. They will hear from journalists, professors, and professionals about the conflict and how to advocate for Israel.
In other news – the New England Hasbara Reunion was canceled due to the bad weather last week (yes, we were that flight). Instead, we’ll be meeting this Wednesday to enjoy Sushi and do a special project together!
