As the warm weather begins to return to the south, Israel advocates in the region are gearing up for an exciting couple of weeks.
Gators for Israel at the University of Florida are continuing their bi-weekly brunch and learn sessions under the leadership of Hasbara Fellow and GFI president, Claire Miller. The first session, which took place on February 7, featured a discussion on the transformation within Egypt and the impact this could have on the region. Similarly, Emory Students for Israel will be hosting a discussion group and information session concerning Egypt’s new government this Wednesday, February 16.
The Hillel Annual-Metro Shabbat will take place on February 26, at the Georgia Tech Student Center Ballroom. The event hosts students from Metro Atlanta schools including Emory University, GA State, Kennesaw State, and Georgia Tech.
Dawgs for Israel under the leadership of Meredith Brody and Daniel Matatiaho at the University of Georgia continues to plan for its upcoming film screening of Five Hours from Paris, scheduled for February 20. The Atlanta Jewish Film Festival continues until February 27 and features Jewish and Israeli award-winning films.
Israel advocates at Florida State University are ready to launch their Israel Week starting on February 21. The weeklong event organized by Noles for Israel under the leadership of Hasbara Fellow Ilana Goldenberg and Daniel Ackerman features Think Green. Think Blue. and the Washington Institute’s David Makovsky. The week culminates with an AEPi sponsored Shabbat dinner and leads directly into the AEPi Conclave.
