Emory Students for Israel is sponsoring Israel Peace Week the week of March 14th. The weeklong event features a screening of the documentary Iranium on Wednesday, March 16 at 7:00 PM in the Math and Science Center Room E208. Hillel at Emory will be providing attendees with FREE PIZZA.
Other highlights of IPW at Emory University include the opening of Salvador Dali’s “Aliyah, The Rebirth of Israel,” created to commemorate the 20th anniversary of the founding of the State of Israel. The exhibit opens on Thursday, March 17th at 6:30 PM in the Marcus Hillel Center. Featured guests include Emory professor of Judaic Studies Dr. David Blumenthal and the Honorable Ofer Avrian, Consul General of Israel. Dr. Elliot King, a noted Dali authority will also speak about Dali and the 25-print collection.
Israel Peace Week concludes with “Shabbat 250” co-sponsored by Emory Students for Israel and Chabad at Emory. The dinner hopes to draw 250 students.
Students at the University of Florida present Harvard Law Professor Alan Dershowitz’s documentary, “The Case for Israel: Democracy’s Outpost” today, March 15 at 7:00 PM in the Reitz Union Auditorium. In the film, Dershowitz details Israel's commitment to peace, democracy, the rule of law, and minority rights. The event is sponsored by the Jewish Student Union and the University of Florida Hillel.
Stay tuned for news on an “Iranium” screening at UF co-sponsored by Gators for Israel and UF Hillel.
Shalom FIU, under the leadership of Hasbara Fellow Rebecca Sterling at Florida International University, had an extremely successful Israel Peace Week. The university enjoyed speakers such as Mara Karlin from the Truman National Security Project and former Congressman Ron Klein. Shalom FIU also screened “Iranium” and Israeli director Eytan Fox’s “The Bubble.”
