This week in the southeast…
Emory Students for Israel’s Israel Peace Week, was a huge success. The group is now gearing up for their annual iFest, which will take place on Thursday, April 14th. Also at Emory University this week: The Jewish Law Students Association, the International Law Society, Hillel at Emory, and the Consulate General of Israel to the Southeast hosted Arthur Lenk, the director of International Law at Israel’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Lenk lectured on “Israel: The Peace Process and International Law.” The event took place Monday, March 21st. Also this Monday, MASA Israel sponsored a Jewish Jobs Fair and Networking Night. Today, March 22nd, ISMI, The Institute for the Study of Modern Israel at Emory, is hosting Hillel Frisch, a senior research associate at The Begin-Sadat Center for Strategic Studies and associate professor at Bar-Ilan University in Tel Aviv. The lecture will focus on the political changes and unrest currently occurring in the Middle East as well as the regional balance of power and the peace process with Israel.
The University of Florida Hillel is in the midst of its First Annual Gainesville Film Festival. The festival, which began on March 14th and runs to March 29th, features films presenting a dynamic and exciting perception of Judaism and the global Jewish community. The festival is held at the Hippodrome Theater and admission is FREE to the public. For more information visit UF Hillel’s Facebook page.
