Ohio Campuses are preparing for an exciting year in Israel Advocacy. As the UN vote for Palestinian statehood approaches, Ohio campuses are preparing op-ed, education seminars, and campaigns to ensure that their campus is educated on the importance of direct negotiations. There is no doubt that Israel Advocacy across Ohio is going to start out with a positive bang!
As school is just around the corner for the majority of Ohio campuses, pro-Israel campus leaders are preparing for a variety of different initiative on campus. One of the biggest concerns for campus leaders is the upcoming UN vote on Palestinian statehood. Campuses will be writing op-eds and using Hasbara Fellowships “friend request pending” campaign as a way to educate their campus on the importance of direct negotiations.
On top of the looming UN vote though, pro-Israel groups are planning their agendas for the upcoming semester and quarters. For example, Ohio State will be hosting its annual event, Ohio Loves Israel. When I recently spoke to Cameron Deschenes, the current Buckeyes for Israel president, about the event he said, “Buckeyes for Israel is excited to host a gathering of pro-Israel Ohio students at Ohio State for our weekend long seminar that uniquely unifies students and strengthens their advocacy skills”
At University of Cincinnatti, Michael Wagner the current president stated that Bearcats for Israel is looking “forward to an exciting year of programming that will not only stimulate and inspire, but also challenge students to seek truth and understanding.”
As each Ohio campus begins to finalize their agenda it is clear that Ohio will be a vibrant state full of a plethora of pro-Israel events this semester!
