School has begun, and central Canada is gearing up for an amazing year! Expect amazing programs and campaigns, and top notch and engaging speakers. Some speakers we are expecting include Neil Lazarus, Gil Hoffman, and Amos Guiora.

There is a lot going on at the University of Alberta in Edmonton.  Staci Silverman, is tabling and recruiting students for her club and arranging speakers. On Wednesday of this week, students heard from former IDF spokesperson Miri Eisen and got a thorough presentation on “Israel’s International Public Image, An Insider’s View”.

In Winnipeg, students are finalizing their plan for the year. This week was Student Recruitment Week at the University of Winnipeg, which was a success, and next week at the University of Manitoba. I am very excited about attending recruitment days at U of M next week spreading the word about Hasbara. Over the summer past fellow Aaron Yaffe, worked at Camp Massad, a Jewish summer camp in Winnipeg Beach, Manitoba, and filmed and edited an amazing video of the campers singing a song they wrote for Gilad Shalit. The song is amazing and really moving, and the video is becoming viral globally! Many students are also showing great interest in Israel Inside/Out, which starts Tuesday.
