With school back officially back in full swing, schools across Ontario and getting ready to promote promote promote!
Most campuses across Ontario including the University of Western Ontario and York University are hosting club weeks where student clubs have their time to shine and highlight what their group has to offer. For many students on campus, this can be the time that they’re looking for a group where they fit in, and their first encounter with your student group. While I’m sure that your specific club is really great, here are a few tips that you may want to use to set your table apart from the many other booths there:
Give-a-ways (who doesn’t love a freebee?!)
Even something as simple as candy can draw someone who otherwise may not approach your group.
Reading material (who are you?)
A short pamphlet about what your group does can be a great resource for those who may not have much time to spend at your booth, but would like to know more about your group.
Consider having Did You Know Cards at your table so that visitors can leave with a simple fact about how great Israel is!
Coalitions (who else is there?)
While you may be a small fish in the sea of student club tables, why not introduce your group to the other clubs there? A small exchange of free-bees and a kind word can be the start of a beautiful friendship and a coalition builder for the upcoming year.
Remember: when tabling for your group, NEVER forget a sign up sheet. While visitors may be drawn to your group, make sure you have their information so that you can remind them about all of the great events that you have planned for the rest of the year!
Also, while we’re on the subject of promotion, don’t forget to spread the good word outside of campus. Shout outs to Adir Dishy, President of Hasbara@York for his great letter to the editor published in Canada's National Post.
Don’t forget to send your group events to our webmaster
Wishing you all a great clubs week and good weather for a fabulous day!!!
