By: Alan Levine
Ishmael Khaldi is visiting California this week! As Israel’s first Bedouin diplomat, Mr. Khaldi is a living example of minority empowerment, religious diversity, and social mobility that is unique to Israel in the Middle East.
Mr. Khaldi served as deputy consul general at Israel’s consulate in San Francisco and currently serves as a special adviser to the foreign minister of Israel.
He will be speaking Tuesday night at UC San Diego, at an event put on by Tritons for Israel. Wednesday night, he will speak at the University of Southern California under the sponsorship of ‘SC Students for Israel. Mr. Khaldi will also be meeting with student leaders at VIP receptions organized by Hasbara Fellows and sponsored by Hasbara Fellowships advisory board member, Adam Milstein and his wife, Gila.
His speeches at both schools, however, will be public, so see you there! See our calendar for time and location.
Hasbara Fellows Shanel Melammed (SCSI president), Stephanie Aziz (SCSI vice-president) and Gabi Tripolsky (TFI vice-president) have worked exceptionally hard on these events to ensure their success. Special thanks to the Committee for Accurate Middle East Reporting in America (CAMERA) for their co-sponsorship and hard work.
