The Hasbara Campus Pulse
Midwest Update
Nov 17, 2010
By:
Leo NayfeldStudents throughout the Midwest have been very busy planning events for next semester. At
Miami University, Hasbara Fellows
Adam Baer and
Paula Mermelstein have put together a great line-up for next semester, including
David Baker,
Yaakov Katz, and
Itamar Marcus! This busy semester is going to be combined with fundraising efforts for
Save A Child’s Heart. Great job
MSI!
Last week, I visited Hasbara Fellow,
Michael Jacobson, at
Indiana University and met with the rest of the members of
IIPAC. This group has been working hard this semester, tabling and doing good PR for Israel. For the spring, they are already planning speakers and a media campaign that is sure to be a success!
Schools and communities have also rapidly been inviting
Zion Uness and
Benjamin Anthony to come while they are on a tour of the region. However, several dates still remain open for their tours, which run from Jan. 31st - Feb. 11th, and Feb. 10th - Feb 23rd, respectively. These speakers will be at schools that include
Ohio State,
IUPUI,
Wayne State,
Bradley,
University of Chicago,
Loyola University,
Michigan State, just to name a few, and would love to come to your campus! So, feel free to contact a Hasbara staff member about bringing them to your school!
Finally, we are still seeking participants for our fabulous
Israel trip, as well as the
NY2DC Metro Trip, which now includes an Israel advocacy component that is brought to you by
Hasbara Fellowships! I hope you all consider one of these great programs; you can find out more information by clicking the links. Thanks again to all the hardworking student activists and campus professionals who have been working hard all semester and will do so in the future, as well!
