Central Canada Update

While little was happening on campus in central Canada, there was a lot of planning and strategizing going on this week.
Next week, George Galloway will be stopping in the region as part of his Canadian tour. He is a former British MP, known for giving money to Hamas and supporting Hezbollah, an organization he claims to not be a terrorist organization. He will be speaking on campus at the University of Calgary, University of Alberta, and at a Church in Winnipeg. Students in all cities have been strategizing their action plan for Galloway.
In more exciting news, Amos Guiora, a law professor at the University of Utah and retired Lieutenant Colonel of the IDF, will be speaking in Calgary, Edmonton, Saskatoon and Winnipeg next week! In Calgary, he is speaking on "Global Perspectives on Terrorism," and in Edmonton will be speaking on "Lawfare: Whose Rights Should Be Protected." Amos will be spending the weekend in Winnipeg with numerous speaking engagements. He will speak at a Hillel Shabbat Dinner, in which students have made some great partnerships with Campus Conservatives and Campus Democracy.
Also in Winnipeg, students are preparing some great ideas for their Israel programming and strategy for the winter semester, including the rebirth of successful campaigns from previous years! At the University of Calgary, students are not only planning for next semester, but are also planning a conference for small campuses in the region. The University of Alberta is also hard at work, strategizing for the new year and looking into some exciting campaign options.
